Celebrating new short course, The Clown
Fourth Monkey in Islington TribuneWe were thrilled to be invited to speak with one of North London’s leading independent newspapers, the Islington Tribune, about the launch of our new short course in collaboration with Rhum + Clay, The Clown!
A conversation with Fourth Monkey’s Artistic Director, Steve Green, about how this new creative short course is designed to help performers and creatives explore and discover new ways of expressing themselves and reacting to the world around them through the art of clowning once, we were delighted to have an opportunity to share an insight into The Clown with one of the newspapers which serves the local community around our London training centre.
Created and taught by award-winning theatre company, Rhum + Clay and delivered at Fourth Monkey’s drama school centres, The Clown is open to anyone aged 18 and over who is interested in exploring Clowning through a real-world, industry-reflective creative short course. No experience or previous clowning training is necessary, and the course will be delivered via weekly sessions across a six-month period and has a Devising intensive as the culmination of training. Plus, there are numerous performance and sharing opportunities throughout the course, in the shape of scratch nights to explore works-in-progress as well as a final showcase performance open to friends and family.
To celebrate the launch of The Clown, and to support our commitment to ensuring all training opportunities are as accessible and affordable as possible, we are giving away a FREE PLACE to train on The Clown from January 2023, plus discounted places for two runners-ups. Full details including how to enter and the competition closing deadline can be found on the Fourth Monkey Instagram channel.
