Monkey Meets... phsyical theatre ensemble, Theatre Re
“It’s a show about life” – Theatre Re Artistic Director, Guillaume Pigé, on The Nature of Forgetting
Exploring the fragility of life when memory is gone performed by an ensemble cast including Fourth Monkey graduate Calum Littley (Two Year Rep, 2018), we were incredibly excited to learn about the return of Theatre Re‘s award-winning production The Nature of Forgetting for a UK and European tour in 2023, including a run of performances as part of London International Mime Festival in January 2023.
To celebrate the return of The Nature of Forgetting, we sat down with Calum as well as Theatre Re Artistic Director and Fourth Monkey associate artist and Patron, Guillaume Pigé, for a fantastic conversation about how the production has evolved since Theatre Re first performed it in 2017 and what audiences can expect when they come to see the show.
We also had an opportunity to ask Guillaume how he felt the experience of touring internationally has changed in the wake of Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as what it is he particularly enjoys about working with Fourth Monkey graduate actors and artists and what is next for Theatre Re as the company continue to grow and evolve.
As he prepares to reprise his role as ‘Mike’ for a second tour with Theatre Re, it was great to pick Calum’s brains about what appealed to him about working with the company after graduating from Fourth Monkey in 2018 and how he feels he has grown as an actor and a creative as part of the process.
It was a pleasure to speak to Guillaume and Calum, and we hope you enjoy watching and listening as much as we enjoyed discussing The Nature of Forgetting with them!
