Outreach Workshops
Fourth Monkey work with schools (with or without drama departments) and youth arts organisations across the UK to deliver free acting and theatre making workshops. Led by one of our professional practitioners, our workshops aim to not only give students an insight into drama school training, but to enhance their current learning at school or college.
Our workshops are designed around our thematic training approach of Act. Make. Move. Collaborate, ensuring that what we bring to your students is truly reflective of the training our degree-level students receive, and is inclusive of a wide variety of theatrical practices and techniques. We are also able to design and deliver bespoke training offers, working closely with teaching staff to create a programme of work that compliments the curriculum, and enhances the learning journey.
The Fourth Monkey workshop at our school was outstanding. It felt fresh and exciting and gave our students are real insight into training at a professional level. The Sixth Formers came away buzzing and were really inspired and keen to apply ideas they had learned to their own practical exam work. All workshops are carefully designed and planned to meet the specific needs of the teacher and the student learners. All of our workshops, bespoke offers and projects are designed to explore and provide experience of professional drama school training through text work, movement, devising, clowning, and a multitude of other techniques and practices.
All of our workshops are free of charge for young people aged 16+ as part of our commitment to making the arts more accessible, and can be tailored to one, two or three hour frameworks to fit within most schedules for ease, we also offer bespoke packages that could cover full or half day workshops, or longer residencies if preferred.
